Hi! I'm Rodney

Hi! I used to work as a newspaper printer. Now, I'm a member of IPI (the Information Physics Institute). My hobbies include reading, writing, listening to pop music, watching TV, the Internet and my laptop / smartphone, and light exercise.
I do a lot of writing. My personal website is my profile on ResearchGate (I'm not on any social media sites). There, you can read my science preprints (articles). The business website lists the latest book I've written ("From Scientific Curiosity to Utopia"). Most of my books are on Amazon but this one's by Eliva Press.

Distinguished and Famous people from Camden

🎨 Elizabeth Macarthur-Onslow

Elizabeth Macarthur-Onslow inherited Camden Park in 1882 and helped develop its farming business. She was also a trained artist, having studied with Conrad Martens and undertaken further art training in London. Her contribution to Camden remains visible in Macarthur Park, which she gave to the community in 1905. She was John Macarthur's granddaughter and should not be confused with his wife Elizabeth, an earlier member of the family. Her own life joined estate management, artistic interests and a lasting gift of public space.

🔬 Graeme Clark

Graeme Clark was born at Camden in 1935, and his father’s deafness helped inspire a childhood ambition to improve hearing. After qualifying as a doctor and specialising in ear, nose and throat medicine, he left clinical work to pursue research. Funding and scepticism were substantial obstacles. His work with a research team helped develop a multichannel cochlear implant, and an implantation in 1978 was followed by further adjustments as the recipient learned to recognise sounds and speech. Clark later concentrated on improving the device and investigating its use in children. The achievement grew through experiments, persistence and collaboration, rather than a single effortless flash of invention.
